Chromium
Exposure can be through breathing contaminated air or ingesting food or water contaminated with chromium from soil or sediments. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has determined that certain chromium compounds are carcinogens. Chromium can damage the lungs, and cause allergic responses in the skin or asthma attacks.
